Montrose Soccer Club

Our United teams compete in the CSA (Colorado Soccer Association) Mountain Region League. This program provides an experience to higher-level games and travel, as it includes competition outside of Montrose against other Mountain Region Clubs and teams. Mountain Region clubs are typically small in numbers so teams in each division will be combined age groups and ability levels. For example, U12 will include both U12 and U11 players on one team, and may include U10 players. Teams in the U15 age division may include players from U13 to U15. The Mountain Region includes teams in the Western Slope area, such as Crested Butte, Telluride, Grand Junction, New Castle, Aspen, and Moab. Not every club in Mountain Region has teams in every age bracket, so where your team will travel is not determined until clubs register their teams.

Age Groups:

U10, U12 and U15 age divisions

Games:

U10 teams play 7v7 (6 players plus a goalkeeper), U12 teams play 9v9 (8 players and a goalkeeper), U15 teams play 11v11 (10 players and a goalkeeper) on the field during their games.

The season consists of 4 home games and 4 away games. Most games will be played on Saturdays or Sundays. Games against opponents within 1 hour of Montrose may be scheduled on weeknights.

Team Formation:

Players will be assigned to teams based on their birth year.Team selections are made based on player placements and created to provide an appropriately challenging developmental experience.

Players may move between rosters or “guest play" with Mountain Region League teams only.

Team Size:

U10 team size is 8-12 players, U12 team size is 12-14 players, and U15 team size is 14-18 players.
