Montrose Soccer Club

Our Premier teams compete in the Colorado Advanced League. The Advanced League offers the best competition for Montrose Avalanche teams in the state. The league features a tiered system that accommodates various levels of competitive play: Premier 1, Premier 2, Premier 3, Elite, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Teams are assigned to divisions based on past performance and club recommendations, with a promotion and relegation system in place that allows teams to move up or down based on seasonal results. Teams in this league are single birth year teams, which keeps the age gap between players smaller than the age gap of players on teams in the Mountain Region League. Teams in the CSA Advanced League can be based anywhere from Cheyenne, WY to Pueblo, CO. The Club does its best to create schedules for these teams that minimize travel as much as possible, but travel to the front range will be inevitable. This league requires more commitment and dedication from players, parents, and coaches than is required for Mountain Region League teams.

Age Groups:

U11-U15 age divisions are for the entire year, fall and spring seasons. U16-U19 (High School) age divisions are for a single season, fall for girls and spring for boys.

Games:

U11-U12 teams play 9v9 (8 players and a goalkeeper), U13- U19 teams play 11v11 (10 players and a goalkeeper) on the field during their games.

The season consists of 8 to 9 games (4 games at home, 4 games away). The amount of travel required will depend upon the other teams registered in the division/bracket. The 4 away games are typically played in the Front Range area and are scheduled across 2 weekends to minimize travel.

Team Formation:

Players will be assigned to teams based on their birth year. Team selections are made based on player placements and created to provide the best possible competitive experience at the most appropriate age group.

Players may move between rosters or “guest play” with Advanced League teams only.

Team Size:

U11-U12 team size is 12-14 players, U13-U19 team size is 14-18 players.
